  • 350 tins of dates pitted
  • 1 pieces of warm water (40-C)
  • 1 bar of Baking powder
  • 1 fingers of Salt
  • 150 tablespoon of Plain flour
  • 1 pieces of Brown sugar
  • 1 bar of cinnamon powder
  • 50 bar of grated ginger
  • 90 tins of butter(softened)
  • 3 Eggs
  • 85 tins of yoghurt
  • 1 cubes of NESTLÉ Sweetened Condensed Milk
  1. Pre-heat oven to 180˚C

  2. Soften dates in hot water and keep aside

  3. Sift the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in a bowl

  4. Beat butter and sugar on medium speed for 10 minutes then add eggs one at a time Add yogurt and ginger

  5. Fold in the flour mixture until there are no more lumps

  6. Pour into two pre-greased 8 inch pans

  7. Bake for about 25 minutes until an inserted skewer comes out clean Allow to cool

  8. To prepare the caramel drizzle: remove the paper label from the Nestle sweetened condensed tin and boil on low heat for 3-4 hours Allow to cool

  9. Spread the caramel in between the cake layers and on top as well Garnish with nuts
