From the kitchen you will need

  • Softened butter 0.75 cup
  • Castor Sugar 1 cup
  • Shelled pistachios 1.5 cup
  • Flour 1.25 cups
  • Salt 0.5 teaspoon
  • Baking Powder 1.5 teaspoon
  • Eggs 4 pieces
  • Rosewater 4 tablespoon
  • Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk 395 g
  • Water 3 cups
  • Corn Flour 0.75 cups
  • Rose Water 1 tablespoon
  • Orange blossom water 1 tablespoon

  • Preheat over to 350°F
  • Line a cake pan with baking paper or grease and set aside.
  • Place pistachios in a food processor and pulse until they are finely ground.
  • Add the flour, salt and baking powder and pulse to mix.
  • Set aside.

  • In a stand mixer, cream the butter and sugar for 3-4 minutes until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each addition. Add the rose water and mix.
  • Add the pistachio flour mixture and fold with a spoon until everything is incorporated well.
  • Pour the batter and spread evenly.
  • For a sheet cake bake for approximately 15-20 minutes.
  • For a round cake bake for 30-40 min.
  • ‎‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ For the kashta:
  • Combine the Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk, water and corn flour in a saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thick.
  • Remove from heat and add the rose and orange blossom water.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate to cool until the cake is done and cool.
