Red Velvet Cake

From Nestlé® you will need

Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk 370g

From the kitchen you will need

  • Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk ½ cup
  • all-purpose flour 2 ½ cups
  • cocoa powder (unsweetened) 2 tbsp
  • baking soda 1 tsp
  • baking powder 1 tsp
  • salt ½ tsp
  • vegetable oil ½ cup
  • butter (softened) ½ cup
  • sugar 1 cup
  • large eggs 2
  • buttermilk 1 cup
  • vanilla extract 2 tsp
  • white vinegar 1 tsp
  • red food coloring 1–2 tbsp
  • For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
  • cream cheese (softened) 250 g
  • butter (softened) ½ cup
  • icing sugar 1 cup
  • Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk 2 tbsp
  • vanilla extract 1 tsp

Step by Step

  • Preheat oven to 180°C and grease two round cake pans.
  • Sift flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a bowl, beat butter, oil, and sugar until fluffy.

  • Add eggs one at a time, then beat in Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk and vanilla.
  • Add food coloring and mix until smooth and vibrant.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk.

  • Add vinegar and give a final gentle mix
  • Divide batter into pans. Bake 25–30 minutes , until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.

Make the Frosting
  • Beat cream cheese and butter until creamy.
  • Add icing sugar gradually.
  • Add vanilla + Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk

Assemble
  • Place the first cake layer and spread frosting.
  • Add the second layer and frost the entire cake.
