Sooji Halwa

From Nestlé® you will need

Nestlé® Sweetened Condensed Milk 370g

From the kitchen you will need

  • semolina (sooji/rava) – fine 1 cup
  • ghee 4 tbsp
  • Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk 1 cup
  • water 1.5 cups
  • milk ½ cup
  • cardamom powder ¼ tsp
  • chopped nuts (almond, pistachio, cashew) 2 tbsp
  • raisins 2 tbsp

Step by Step

  • In a saucepan, combine: 2 cups water, 1 cup Nestlé Sweetened Condensed Milk. Heat on low until well mixed; do not boil, Set aside.

  • In a heavy pan, heat 4 tbsp ghee. Add 1 cup of sooji. Roast on medium–low heat for 6–8 minutes.
  • Slowly pour the warm, condensed milk mixture into the roasted sooji while stirring constantly.

  • Cook on medium heat, stirring, until: Halawa thickens Ghee starts to separate Mixture leaves the sides of the pan (about 5–7 minutes).
  • Add cardamom powder and mix. Garnish with chopped nuts. Serve warm.
